She was born in Germany 1983 and moved from Cologne/Germany to study Dance with Theatre and Professional Practice at Coventry University. Her passion for dance and performance has been sparked by her love of music and amateur theatre. As an artist Joana works interdisciplinary to make humorous works that challenge her personal ideas of what dance is and can be. She believes that artistic and personal identity are closely linked and is keen to investigate and explore this relationship through the mediums of movement, writing and drawing to find out what that means for her.
